Getting Started
How do I start a book?
From Library, tap the + button to start a new manuscript, or tap the import button to bring in an existing one. A new book requires a title and author; series, genre, and book stage are optional and can be changed later. When the Library is empty, Try Sample Book creates a local example you can explore and edit.
Should I create a book or import a manuscript?
Create a book when you want a clean manuscript to build inside Wexley Pro. Import Manuscript accepts a standard .docx, a .txt file, or pasted text. After selecting a DOCX, confirm Book Details and the Structure Detected summary, then create the book or re-import the source. Exact recognized Heading 1 names such as Introduction or Epilogue are sorted into front or back matter automatically. The ePub Style option is an optional design reference; it is not a full EPUB manuscript import.
How is the book workspace organized?
Books and Collections each have four tabs. Contents holds front matter, body content, and back matter. Metadata holds publishing information and workflow stage. Style controls the visual system. Export runs readiness checks and prepares available ebook, Word, or print files. A Collection has its own content, metadata, style, and exports.
Where do I set genre and book stage?
Set both while creating a book or later in Metadata. Genre is publishing metadata and appears on the Library card. Stage is a local workflow label: Draft, In progress, Revision, or Complete. Changing it does not alter manuscript or export content.
DOCX Import
What is the safest Word file to import?
Work from a backup copy saved locally as a standard .docx—not .doc, .docm, a password-protected file, or a cloud-only placeholder. The file must be 50 MB or smaller. In Word, accept or reject tracked changes and preserve any comments you need elsewhere before deleting them. Wexley imports the current revision: tracked deletions stay out, tracked insertions come in, and comments do not transfer.
How should I mark chapters and subheadings in Word?
Put each chapter or matter title alone in its own paragraph and apply Word’s built-in Heading 1 style. Every Heading 1 starts a new section; bold, large type, all caps, and page breaks alone do not. Use Heading 2 for a primary in-chapter subhead and Heading 3 for a secondary subhead. Heading 4–9 are reduced to that same secondary level. With no Heading 1, all readable body text imports as one chapter named Manuscript.
Which DOCX headings become front matter?
Apply Heading 1 to one of these names: Half Title, Frontispiece, Title Page, Copyright, Dedication, Epigraph, Contents or Table of Contents, About This Book, Foreword, Preface, Introduction, Prologue, Image Page, or Custom Front Matter. Acknowledgments and Series Page become front matter when placed before the first ordinary chapter. Half Title, Title Page, and Contents are generated by Wexley, so imported body text for those pages is not used.
Which DOCX headings become back matter?
Apply Heading 1 to one of these names: Epilogue, Afterword, About the Author, Also By, Notes or Endnotes, Glossary, Bibliography, References, Works Cited, Permissions, Credits, Colophon, Index, or Custom Back Matter. Acknowledgments and Series Page become back matter when placed after an ordinary chapter. Wexley routes only exact recognized names; a unique or free-form Heading 1 title remains a chapter.
How do title, author, and contents import from Word?
Set Title, Author, Language, and Description or Subject in the Word document properties when possible. Wexley places those values in editable Book Details; when Title is blank, it uses the filename. Opening paragraphs styled Title, Subtitle, or Author are treated as title-page lines rather than manuscript prose. A Word-generated table of contents is excluded because Wexley builds its own from the imported book structure.
What Word formatting does Wexley preserve?
Wexley preserves paragraphs; bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript, subscript, small caps, and combinations; external links; Word bookmarks and their links; embedded JPEG or PNG images; Quote paragraphs; Heading 2+ subheads; and footnotes or endnotes as managed notes. Lists retain nine levels, restarts, numbers, letters, Roman numerals, circles, and squares. Word tables retain rows, columns, header rows, merged cells, captions, descriptions, widths, formatting, links, and notes. Word image Descriptions become alt text; following Caption paragraphs become captions. Standalone * * *, # # #, or ~ ~ ~ becomes a scene break.
What may need to be rebuilt after DOCX import?
Linked images and embedded image formats other than JPEG or PNG do not transfer; floating images become centered and in-flow. Add missing alt text after import. Charts, equations, comments, hidden text, and images in table cells do not transfer; nested tables become readable lines. Broken bookmark links keep their words and trigger a warning. REF and PAGEREF fields keep the displayed result but are not live. Rare numbering becomes decimal; decorative underline and strike variants become solid. Headers, footers, fonts, colors, highlighting, page or column breaks, margins, and Word page layout are ignored because Wexley applies its own design.
What should I check after selecting the DOCX?
Confirm the editable Book Details, then scan Structure Detected for front matter, chapter names, and back matter. If prose appears as a chapter named Opening Material, give it an exact Heading 1 matter name in Word and re-import. If the book arrives as one Manuscript chapter, apply Heading 1 to each intended section title. When the structure is correct, choose Create Book; the source DOCX is not changed.
Can a DOCX provide the book cover or publisher logo?
Yes. To use an image as the cover, set its Word Description to exactly “Wexley cover” before importing. A publisher logo from a compatible Wexley Editable DOCX can also return to Metadata. Wexley does not automatically treat the first image as a cover, so confirm the cover and logo in Book Details before creating the book.
Library & Organization
How do I find, open, or delete a book?
Use the magnifying glass in Library to search by title or author. Tap a book card to open it. Long-press a card for Open and Delete actions; deletion asks for confirmation and removes the local book and its local VaultMark history. Copies already included in Collections and files saved outside Wexley Pro remain.
How do I organize chapters and book matter?
Open Contents. Use the bottom + button for a chapter, or Add beside Front Matter or Back Matter to choose one or more section types. Tap Reorder, then drag within a section group. Long-press chapters—or use Select beside book matter—to select multiple items for deletion.
What does the AUTO badge mean on a book section?
AUTO sections come from your book structure, Metadata, or Library. Half Title and Title Page are read-only pages generated from Metadata, while the table of contents is generated from book structure. Copyright and catalog pages still provide editable starting text.
Can I bring pages from an EPUB into front or back matter?
Yes. In Contents, tap ePub beside Front Matter or Back Matter, choose a DRM-free EPUB containing content you own or have permission to reuse, assign available pages, then tap Confirm & Import. Wexley imports page titles and readable text—not the source layout, styling, images, fonts, link destinations, or note relationships—so review every imported page before publishing.
What are Collections?
Collections assemble existing books into an ordered box set, anthology, or omnibus. Open Collections from Library; at least two books are required before you can create one. Adding a book makes an independent Collection copy. You can reorder volumes, choose a Full Title Page, Half-Title, Part Page, or Ornamental Break between them, and edit or exclude copied content without changing the Library book. Deleting the source book later does not remove its Collection copy.
What can I manage inside a Collection?
A Collection has its own front matter, copied volume content, back matter, cover, metadata, style, statistics, Find & Replace, Version History, VaultMark history, EPUB export, and Print export. You can reorder volumes and Collection-owned sections, or open an original Library book while it still exists. Collection edits and exports do not update the source books, and Collections do not currently export an Editable DOCX.
Writing & Editing
How is my writing saved?
The editor saves on your device after you pause typing and shows Saving… while it writes the update. Tapping Done, navigating back, or sending the app to the background saves the latest document before you leave. If the app cannot safely access its local files, it preserves recovery information, pauses further writes, and offers Retry instead of replacing your book with an empty result.
What formatting is available in the editor?
The editor toolbar supports bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript, subscript, small caps, hard line breaks, hyperlinks, H1 and H2 headings, block quotes, bulleted or numbered lists, paragraph alignment, semantic tables, and standard or major scene breaks. Marks can be combined. List, table, and scene-break controls open from their toolbar arrows; book-wide typography and layout live in Style.
How do I create and edit a table?
Place the cursor and tap the grid button to insert a 2 × 2 table with a header row. Type in any cell; Tab moves forward, Shift-Tab moves back, and Tab from the final cell adds a row. The grid controls add a row below, add a column to the right, delete rows or columns, merge right or below, split a merged cell, toggle a header row, and resize or equalize columns. You can also add a visible caption and separate screen-reader description. Preview, EPUB, and print preserve captions, descriptions, headers, merged cells, and column proportions.
Where should I use hyperlinks in an ebook?
Select meaningful words and choose the link button. Use Website or email for author sites, reader resources, sources, permissions, and contact addresses. Use Place in book for a chapter, heading, or imported Word bookmark; these links remain inside Preview and compatible ebook readers, and cross-chapter EPUB links resolve to the correct content file. Use links sparingly in narrative prose and avoid vague phrases such as “click here.” EPUB links keep the book’s text color but remain underlined so they are recognizable on color and monochrome reading devices.
How do I add and prepare an image?
In a chapter or dedicated image page, tap the photo button. Choose a JPEG, PNG, or HEIC image, then set size, alignment, color or grayscale appearance, page treatment, and caption. Add alt text or explicitly mark the image Decorative for accessibility. Full Bleed uses its own page and centered placement. HEIC is converted on your device, and Wexley keeps a copy inside the book so the source photo does not have to remain in its original location.
How do managed footnotes work?
Place the cursor where the reference belongs and tap the ¹ button. Write the note and save it. Tap an existing footnote marker to edit or delete that note; Wexley manages its reference and export numbering.
Where are the dictionary and chapter preview?
Tap the book icon in the editor for the offline Dictionary & Thesaurus. Selected text is used as the initial lookup, and a result can be inserted at the cursor. Tap Preview in the editor header to inspect the current chapter or section with the book’s export styling.
Story Bible & Intelligence
What belongs in the Story Bible?
The Story Bible keeps development material beside the manuscript without placing it in the book. Open it with the purple shield in the book header. Use Build, Characters, Research, Outline, and World; Outline also includes Threads and Timeline, while World includes the World Library and Notes.
What can I build and organize in the Story Bible?
Build creates Characters, Locations, Factions, World Rules, Plot Threads, Timeline Events, and Terms. World entries support summaries, guided fields, tags, and Draft, Canon, or Archived status. Characters include role, story depth, background, traits, goals, relationships, notes, a portrait, and reference images. Research stores titled notes with category, tags, and content. Outline stores reorderable Act, Chapter, Scene, and Beat cards. World also holds free-form notes and a library of structured entries. Story Bible material is for Books, not Collections, and stays outside the publication unless you copy it into manuscript content.
What does Wexley Intelligence do?
Wexley Intelligence develops rough ideas into structured, editable Story Bible drafts. It can help fill the Character form and build story elements through Worldbuilder. A result remains a draft for your review and does not enter the Story Bible until you choose Save.
Does Wexley Intelligence send my ideas to a cloud model?
No. Wexley Intelligence processes its prompts, drafts, and Story Bible context on your device rather than sending them to Wexley Pro or a cloud model. The Character and Worldbuilder tools show when the feature is ready. Generation may be unavailable or stop if the device has limited resources; your saved Story Bible remains unchanged unless you review and save the draft.
Book Tools & Recovery
Where can I see writing statistics?
Open a Book or Collection, tap the header ellipsis, then choose Statistics. The dashboard reports word and chapter totals, estimated pages and reading time, averages and extremes, progress toward length milestones, content distribution, and local readability estimates. Collection statistics cover the saved Collection edition, including its included copied content.
How does Find & Replace work across a whole book?
Open the header tools menu and choose Find & Replace. In a Book, search the whole manuscript, a specific chapter, front matter, or back matter. In a Collection, search the saved Collection edition. Optionally match case or whole words, preview results, select occurrences, then use Replace Selected or Replace All. Structured formatting, tables, images, scene breaks, and footnotes are preserved. A local “Before Find & Replace” snapshot is created before replacement.
How do I save or restore a version?
Open the Book or Collection tools menu and choose Version History. Save a local snapshot with an optional label, restore an earlier snapshot, or delete one you no longer need. Each Book keeps up to 20 snapshots and each Collection keeps up to 10. Identical saves are not duplicated. Find & Replace automatically creates a “Before Find & Replace” snapshot before committing changes. Snapshots stay on this device and are not cloud backup.
What is VaultMark in the editor?
VaultMark keeps a private history for each book and collection. It records checkpoints and lets you seal milestones with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Books and Collections keep separate histories; a Collection records its own saved edition and exports. VaultMark can check that a verification bundle is intact and that a selected release file matches a release recorded in that history. It is not a manuscript backup, copyright registration, legal guarantee, or proof of identity, authorship, ownership, originality, an independent timestamp, a complete history, or the latest copy.
What do the buttons in VaultMark History do?
VaultMark History lets you save a checkpoint, seal a milestone, export a verification bundle, check a bundle, check a release file, and manage its security key. Each control is explained below.
Seal milestone — Saves the current book or collection as a named milestone after Face ID, Touch ID, or device-passcode authentication.
Export verification bundle — Creates a shareable file containing the recorded history and public verification information. It does not include manuscript text or private security keys.
Verify a bundle — Checks whether the selected verification bundle is complete and unchanged. It also checks any included seals; it does not compare an EPUB, PDF, or other release file.
Verify a release file — Checks whether the selected file matches a release recorded in the current or selected verification bundle. The filename may differ, but the file contents must match.
Manage project security key (or Manage collection security key) — Shows the security status and, when needed, lets you recover or replace the key used for future seals, or delete the local key after device-owner authentication. Earlier bundles remain checkable; books and collections use separate keys.
Record collection checkpoint — Appears for Collections and records the current saved collection state without sealing it.
Seal latest release — Appears when the latest recorded export is waiting for a seal. After device-owner authentication, it adds that seal to the release history.
The difference: Verify a bundle asks whether the history file is intact. Verify a release file asks whether a selected export matches a release recorded in that history.
What does a VaultMark verification bundle contain?
A VaultMark verification bundle contains the history and public verification information needed to check it, along with details about recorded releases and source files. It does not contain manuscript text or private security keys. The following explains what may appear in it.
A verification bundle contains the book or collection identity, recorded history, milestone labels, dates, word counts, release and source-file fingerprints, filenames, file sizes, and the public information needed to check the bundle. It does not contain manuscript text or a private security key.
VaultMark can show whether a selected bundle is intact, whether a release file matches a recorded export, and whether a milestone was sealed on this device. It does not prove identity, authorship, copyright ownership, originality, an independent timestamp, or that every edit was recorded. An older valid bundle may not represent the latest history.
A bundle exported from one book or collection can be recognized as belonging to that same history. Renaming a file does not change its contents, but changing or re-saving the file can. Separate books and collections keep separate histories. Dates come from the device, and deleting a local key cannot recall a bundle that was already exported.
Design & Metadata
What should I complete in Metadata?
Use Metadata to set the cover, title, subtitle, author, contributor credits, description, genre, language, ISBN, publisher, publication date, series, rights, and edition information. Contributor roles include editor, illustrator, photographer, foreword, introduction, designer, researcher, narrator, translator, and Other. Copyright settings support Personal, Publisher / Commercial, and Public Domain details. Publisher Profiles can reuse a profile name, publisher, optional imprint, default rights, territory, and optional logo. Review these values before export.
What can I control in Style?
Start with one of 12 presets, then refine ebook fonts, available print fonts, font size, line height, letter spacing, justified or left body alignment, paragraph spacing or indents, drop caps, chapter headings, numbering and start position, standard and major scene breaks, list markers, ebook margins, print running headers, pull quotes, and epigraphs. Manual changes become Custom. These settings appear in Preview and the appropriate EPUB or Print output for both Books and Collections.
What does Reference Style import from an EPUB?
Reference Style looks at an EPUB’s visual formatting and applies supported choices to Style. It does not retain or export the source text, layout files, fonts, images, or ornaments, and it cannot use rights-managed or unsupported encrypted EPUBs. Use only a DRM-free EPUB you created, whose relevant content is in the public domain, or that you have permission to analyze. You are responsible for confirming those rights.
Export & Publishing
What does Publication Readiness Check verify?
In Export, Run Check looks for common publication problems such as missing title or author, no chapters, empty chapters, a missing cover, and absent listing details. It does not generate an EPUB. During export, Wexley also checks the generated EPUB before it is packaged and stops if important file problems are found.
How do retailer EPUB exports work?
Wexley prepares a separate EPUB for each selected destination and checks the file before packaging. Destinations include Amazon, Apple, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, IngramSpark, Draft2Digital, Google Play, PublishDrive, StreetLib, Tolino, OverDrive, and Generic EPUB. In the shared export, EPUB contains one loose Cover image at its root when a cover is set, while each retailer folder contains that retailer’s EPUB and metadata file. The cover is not repeated inside retailer folders. Profiles help prepare files for each destination but do not guarantee acceptance; confirm the retailer’s current requirements before uploading.
What does Editable DOCX export include?
For a Book, Export can create a clean Word manuscript for editing and later re-import. It carries the publication’s reading order, metadata, headings, paragraphs, character formatting, semantic lists and tables, scene breaks, compatible images, links, bookmarks, and managed footnotes. It uses a standard editable Word presentation rather than Wexley’s ebook or print design, and it is not a pixel-for-pixel copy of the originally imported file. Collections do not currently provide Editable DOCX export.
How do I prepare a print interior?
Open Configure Print Settings in Export. Choose one of the available trim sizes, choose Color or Black & White, and select where you plan to print. A separate interior PDF is prepared and checked for each selected retailer; incompatible trim choices are disabled and retailer-required black-and-white handling is automatic. The ZIP contains each retailer-ready interior PDF and pre-press checklist. It does not include an editable source file or create a full-spread print cover. Inspect every PDF at full size before submission.
Which print retailers are supported?
Print destinations include Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Barnes & Noble Press, Lulu, Bookvault, and Draft2Digital Print. Wexley applies each destination’s available trim sizes, margin and gutter requirements, bleed rules, interior-color restrictions, and print checks. Draft2Digital Print is prepared in black and white. Some destinations require an ISBN. The result reports Print Ready, Print Warning, or PDF Only when the chosen settings cannot be represented by the selected destination.
Can I prepare several formats in one export?
Yes. A Book export can package selected retailer EPUBs, one Editable DOCX, and selected retailer Print interiors. A Collection can package retailer EPUBs and Print interiors, but not Editable DOCX. The shared ZIP keeps one Book Title folder: EPUB contains one loose cover at its root when a cover is set and the selected retailer folders; Print contains its retailer folders; DOCX contains the editable Word file when included. The cover is not duplicated, and internal build files are not included.
Are exported files guaranteed to be accepted by every retailer?
No software can guarantee acceptance. Wexley applies the selected profile and checks common problems, but retailer specifications and submission decisions remain outside the app. Run Pre-flight, review the exported files, and confirm the retailer’s current requirements before uploading.
Privacy & Account
What information leaves my device?
Firebase handles Wexley Pro account authentication. Wexley does not upload your manuscripts, Story Bible, or Wexley Intelligence prompts and drafts to Firebase or Wexley Pro; that creative content is stored and processed locally. Apple-managed device backups may include local app data according to your device and iCloud settings. Files also leave local app storage when you choose to export or share them.
Can I use Wexley Pro offline?
Writing, Story Bible, Wexley Intelligence, Book Tools, and file generation are designed to run on your device. Account creation, sign-in, purchase, restore, and a fresh subscription check can require a connection. If authentication is unavailable and local manuscripts already exist, the sign-in screen can offer Continue Offline. Previously verified active access may continue offline on that device until it expires; subscription controls return after account status is checked again.
How do I sign out, and will it delete my books?
Open Settings, find Account, and tap Sign Out. Signing out ends the Firebase account session but does not delete manuscripts or other local app data on that device.
How do I permanently delete my account?
Open Settings, find Account, and tap Delete Account. Review App Store billing first because deleting a Wexley Pro account does not cancel a subscription. Confirm the current password, Google account, or Apple account, then choose whether to keep local books or erase Wexley-managed author data and all VaultMark project signing keys on that device. Apple-linked deletion revokes the new Apple authorization before removing the account. Exports saved outside Wexley Pro remain; exported VaultMark bundles stay verifiable and cannot be recalled. Apple-managed backups follow your device and iCloud settings.
Are my books synced or backed up to my account?
No. Signing in to your Wexley Pro account does not currently sync books between devices, and local Version History is not a cloud backup. Apple-managed device backup or migration may include eligible local app data according to your device and iCloud settings, but it is not Wexley sync and is not guaranteed to contain the latest work. Retain important exported files and keep your device backup current.
How do I manage an App Store subscription?
For an active Monthly or Yearly App Store subscription, Settings shows Manage App Store Subscription and opens Apple’s subscription controls. If renewal is cancelled but access remains active until a future date, the action remains available and Settings shows when access expires. A Lifetime App Store purchase has no recurring subscription to manage, so that action is not shown. The action is also unavailable when access is inactive, the purchase source cannot be confirmed, or account status needs to be checked again.
How do I manage a website subscription?
When a freshly verified active website subscription includes a billing-management link, Settings shows Manage Plan and opens that secure account page. The action is hidden for Lifetime access, inactive access, stale or offline status, an unverified purchase source, or an account response that does not provide a management destination. Restore App Store Purchases applies only to purchases made through Apple.
When should I use Restore App Store Purchases?
Use Restore App Store Purchases after reinstalling, changing devices, or when an App Store purchase is missing from the signed-in Wexley account. Restore asks Apple and Wexley’s purchase service to refresh ownership; it does not cancel or modify a subscription. Keep Restore separate from Manage App Store Subscription: Restore recovers access, while Manage opens Apple’s controls for an existing recurring plan.
Which iPhone and iPad accessibility settings does Wexley respect?
Wexley provides labels, roles, hints, selection states, progress announcements, and expanded or collapsed states across its main controls. Images require alt text or a Decorative choice, and tables can carry a separate accessibility description into supported exports. Key motion surfaces follow the system Reduce Motion preference, layouts adapt to text scale and available width, and the app uses safe-area and keyboard-aware layouts on iPhone and iPad. These features support accessibility but do not represent a formal accessibility certification.
Settings & Troubleshooting
What can I check in Settings?
Settings contains your Pro access status and period, available plan-management and App Store restore actions, Dark Mode, Help Center and support email, account status, sign-out, permanent account deletion, installed app version and build, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and notices for included software and other product resources.
What should I do if an export fails?
Run Pre-flight first and address its errors. Confirm the book has a title, author, chapters, and usable local images; make sure the device has free storage; then retry. If Wexley identifies a file or setting in an export message, correct it and try again. If the problem continues, contact support with the message shown.
Why is Wexley Intelligence unavailable?
Open Character or Worldbuilder and read the status message shown where generation is offered. Wexley Intelligence is available only when the on-device writing assistant is ready. If the message says it is unavailable, follow the suggested step and try again. Your Story Bible information stays on your device and is not sent to a server for this feature.
Why do I not see my books after signing in on another device?
Signing in restores account access, not manuscript storage, because Wexley does not currently sync books between devices. A different device or fresh installation normally begins with an empty Library unless Apple restores eligible app data through device backup or migration.
Purchasing and compatibility
Can I try Wexley before paying?
Yes. Eligible first-time customers receive one shared 7-day trial with either Monthly or Annual. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first $9.99 monthly or $79.99 annual charge. Starting or switching to the other subscription does not create a second trial.
Which devices are supported?
Wexley Pro requires a compatible iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Performance varies based on device resources, storage, manuscript size, operating-system version, and thermal conditions. The App Store listing provides the controlling compatibility requirements.
Is Wexley available for Android, Windows, or Mac?
Wexley Pro is currently an iPhone and iPad application. Unless Wexley announces otherwise, do not purchase expecting a native Android, Windows, or Mac version.
What does the purchase include?
Every website plan unlocks the same core Wexley Pro publishing studio for iPhone and iPad, including supported authoring, organization, Local Intelligence, EPUB, Editable DOCX for Books, Print interior export, Story Bible, and Collections. A purchase does not include printing, an ISBN, retailer fees, distribution accounts, a Print cover-wrap file, or guaranteed retailer acceptance.
Are prices in U.S. dollars?
Yes. Website prices are shown in USD and applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
Licenses and plans
Do Monthly and Annual renew automatically?
Yes. After any shared 7-day trial, Monthly renews at $9.99 USD each month and Annual renews at $79.99 USD each year, plus applicable tax, until canceled. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge or before a renewal date to prevent the next one.
How do I switch between Monthly and Annual?
Cancel the current subscription before its next renewal and keep using Wexley through the end of the paid period. When that period ends, start the other plan. Switching plans does not provide another free trial if the shared trial was already used.
What does Lifetime mean?
Lifetime means access to the core Wexley Pro application for as long as Wexley Publishing LLC continues to operate, offer, and maintain it. Ordinary maintenance and main releases are included. Distinct future products, services, premium modules, cloud capacity, enterprise offerings, or separately sold packs may cost extra.
Can I use Wexley on more than one device?
Your license is tied to your personal account and may be active on one device at a time unless Wexley states otherwise. You may move to another compatible device through sign-out, transfer, or restore tools. Account sharing and resale are not permitted.
Can I format books for clients?
Yes, if you are the licensed user operating Wexley. Your client does not receive your software license, and you remain responsible for client support and the files you deliver.
How do I restore a purchase?
Sign in with the same Wexley account. For an Apple purchase, use Restore App Store Purchases; Restore is separate from subscription management and does not cancel or change a plan. For a website purchase, refresh access or sign in again. If access still does not appear, email support@wexley.pro with the purchase email and receipt or transaction number.
Privacy and books
Does Wexley upload or train on my manuscript?
Wexley stores Books, Collections, Story Bible data, and Local Intelligence processing on your device and does not use your book to train Wexley AI models. Signing in restores account and purchase access, not manuscripts. Wexley Pro does not currently provide manuscript cloud sync; Apple-managed device backup or migration may include eligible data according to your settings but is not guaranteed.
Does Wexley automatically receive crash reports?
No. Wexley only receives a diagnostic report or attachment when you choose to send it through an in-app support email or another support channel. Review anything you attach before sending.
What does VaultMark prove?
VaultMark can check a recorded history’s internal integrity, signatures under the device public keys included in that history, and whether exact release bytes match a recorded release. It reports valid seal coverage separately. It does not prove human identity, legal authorship, copyright ownership, originality, trusted time, complete history, or that a bundle is the latest copy. Browser verification runs locally and does not upload the selected bundle or release file to Wexley.
Does Local Intelligence require a per-prompt payment?
The core Local Intelligence included with a paid Wexley Pro plan is designed to run on-device without a metered per-prompt Wexley fee. Separately identified future products or optional packs may be sold independently.
Exports, refunds, and help
What can Wexley export?
Books can export a clean Editable DOCX, destination-oriented EPUB packages for twelve publishing services, and Print interior packages for six retailer profiles across supported trim choices. Collections can export EPUB and Print packages but not Editable DOCX. Wexley reports validation and manufacturing results for the generated files; a warning or PDF Only result is not retailer certification.
Do Collections have the same publishing tools as Books?
Collections have their own copied content, matter, metadata, Style, statistics, Find & Replace, Version History, VaultMark history, EPUB, and Print exports. Later source-Book edits do not change the Collection copy. Story Bible and Editable DOCX are Book-only.
Does Print export include a cover?
No. Print export creates retailer-specific interior PDFs and pre-press checklists. It does not include an editable source file or generate a wraparound Print cover; retailers generally require the cover as a separate upload.
Does Wexley guarantee KDP or retailer acceptance?
No. Retailers and printers control their own rules and can change them. Review every export, Wexley preflight notice, and the current platform requirements before publishing.
What is the refund window?
Eligible website Monthly charges and renewals have a 7-calendar-day refund window, Annual charges and renewals have a 14-calendar-day window, and Lifetime purchases have a 30-calendar-day window. After the applicable window closes, the charge is non-refundable except where law requires otherwise. See the full Refund Policy for instructions and exceptions.
What should I send support?
For account or billing help, include the account email and transaction number. For technical help, include the iPhone or iPad model, iOS or iPadOS version, app version and build from Settings, what you expected, and what occurred. Do not send a complete manuscript unless support asks for a small example and you choose to provide it.
